College begins in kindergarten

KIPP VOICE Academy is part of the free public school system and enrollment is open to all students. We prepare students with the knowledge, skills, habits, and character for success in college and life. Integral to the school’s program are its core values, represented by the word VOICE – Vision, Optimism, Imagination, Community, and Empowerment. 



Melissa Lane

  • Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading Education, Georgia Southern University

Melissa Lane started her career teaching third grade. While in the classroom, she was selected as the Savannah-Chatham School System’s Teacher of the Year in 2012, which was followed by being in the Georgia Teacher of the Year Top 10. Her higher education has primarily focused on early literacy curriculum and instruction. Melissa joined KIPP Jacksonville in 2015 and has served as the School Leader of KIPP VOICE since 2016. She and her husband stay busy at home raising two boys with another one due this school year!
