Terence L. Wright is a dedicated community leader and educator, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. His lifelong passion for serving his community, particularly at-risk youth, has driven him to be actively involved in various youth programs and activities. Wright has held numerous roles, including summer enrichment camp director, Boy Scout troop leader, and coach for youth football, basketball, t-ball, and baseball.
Wright has designed, implemented, and facilitated several impactful youth mentoring programs such as Rites of Passage, Brothers for Peace, M.A.L.E.S. (Men Achieving Leadership, Excellence, and Success), and LEAP (Lift Empower Achieve Persist). A proud graduate of William M. Raines High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Administration from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
Early in his career, Wright worked at the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce as the Assistant Director of the Gainesville Sports Organizing Committee. He has since dedicated over thirty years to higher education at Florida State College at Jacksonville, where he currently serves as the Campus Dean and Director of Campus Enrollment and Student Services at the Kent Campus. Wright is also the president of the Administrators
and Professionals Collaborative campus governance group and has taught as an adjunct instructor for more than twenty years.
Wright’s professional excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the APC Quality Leadership Award, Advising Excellence Award, Student Centered Award, NISOD Excellence Award, and NCBAA National Leadership Award. He serves on the Regional and National Board of Directors for the National Council on Black American Affairs, an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges, and on the Board of Directors for the Kappa Alpha Psi Jacksonville Foundation, Inc.
A committed member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Wright has served as the Chairman of the Trustee Board and Men’s Ministry for over twenty years. He has been married to his wife, Attorney Regina Wright, for more than twenty years, and they have three children: Teraney, Maya, and Terence II. Terence L. Wright’s dedication to his community and his impactful work with youth continue to inspire and uplift those around him.
