The Florida Bandmasters Association hosted its annual Music Performance Assessment for middle school concert bands on March 11-12 at Fernandina Beach Middle School. Middle school band programs from across Duval and Nassau County were invited to perform and were rated by judges.
The KIPP Impact Concert Band was one of only two middle school band programs in all of Duval County to earn the highest rating of “Superior.” This is the consecutive year that KIPP Impact band program earned this highest distinction. The KIPP Impact Symphonic band was one of four middle school bands in Duval County to earn the next highest rating of “Excellent.” Congratulations to our students and teachers for their focus, discipline, teamwork, and grit!
As part of KIPP’s extended school day model, students receive consistent exposure to arts and physical education. At KIPP Impact Middle School, all students have one hour of instrumental music instruction every school day. The arts are core to KIPP’s mission to prepare our students with the knowledge, skills, habit and character for success in college and life.
